STRATEGIC SECTORS

Agri-food sector

The agri-food sector is one of the most important economic engines in the province, where agriculture, fishing and livestock stand out. Its strong fishing industry and its crops such as vines make Cádiz a strategic city for companies in the agri-food sector.

Investing in the agri-food sector of Cádiz is a guarantee of security, since it represents 3.1% of the GDP of the entire province and employs more than 25,000 people. Its quality products, with a designation of origin, allow national and international exports (it is the sector with the highest number of exports in Cádiz). In the province of Cádiz we have 3 products that are Denomination of Origin: ‘Jerez-Xérès-Sherry’, ‘Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda’ and ‘Vinagre de Jerez’.
If the agri-food sector in Spain stands out for its quality, in Cádiz it is a benchmark for the diversity of products and the capacity of agriculture, livestock and fishing due to its agricultural tradition and its coastal location.
